Manufacturers are really zealous about adding extra camera sensors on phones these days. There was a time when a phone with dual cameras on both front and back was referred to as a quad camera phone, but a few months ago that changed.
We already have a handful of Quad-camera phones and many more are on their way. but do we really need multiple rear or front cameras?
Why do we need four cameras on a phone?

Unlike DSLRs, you can clip different lens assembly to your phone for particular needs. So OEMs a You’d still be using the primary sensor for basic photography, but in select situations, the Telephoto lens for zoom or the Wide angle camera for greater field of view might come in handy.
Even when great camera phones like Google Pixel 3 XL defy the trend, we’d say that the concept of stacking multiple camera sensors has some merit to it.
